Returns and Exchanges

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for: 
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Digital downloads

Returns and Exchange Details 
Please contact me if you are unhappy with any item and I will try to resolve any problems. A refund of the cost of the item can be arranged on prompt return of the purchase, undamaged and in a saleable condition. Any returns must be made within 14 days of receipt of the item with the buyer being responsible for the return postage.

In line with the EU distance selling regulations, the buyer has the right to return items within 14 days of receipt without supplying any reason. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility.

Please note that custom orders including lace bobbins with inscriptions for special occasions etc. are non-returnable unless the item is faulty.


Payment
I accept payment by PayPal and Direct Check Out using credit and debit cards.


Shipping
Shipping Charges - Within the UK, parcels are dispatched by Royal Mail First Class post. International parcels will be sent from the UK by Royal Mail International Standard service. I do obtain 'proof of posting' for all parcels. However, I would recommend a tracked postal service which includes insurance for larger value orders. This is available at an additional cost – please contact me for further details. Please note: if you are purchasing from the EU, please purchase through my Etsy Shop. This will enable the correct tax to be applied at the time of purchase.

The post may take longer than usual at certain times of the year. All items will be well packaged to prevent any damage in the postal system - however, please let me know if there are any problems.

Buyers out with the UK are responsible for any import duties, taxes, charges etc. which may be levied by their own country.

Please check that your address details are correct when placing an order with me. Your parcel will be sent to the address appearing on the invoice unless I am otherwise informed. I am unable to redirect mail after it has been dispatched.


General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
I, Alison Tolson, am the data-controller of your personal information as it relates to my shop.

When you place an order from me, I will receive your name, delivery address and email address from my online shop – www.lacebobbin.com. I will only use these details to process and deliver your order, or deal with any queries you have related to that order. If you send me a message using the contact form on the website, I will receive your username and email address.

The only circumstances in which I will share your data are in processing your order or complying with the law. I will never use or pass on your information to third parties for marketing purposes or any other purpose, other than the circumstances listed below, or add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent. The circumstances in which I may share your data are:
  • With delivery companies to fulfil your order
  • To comply with legal or tax obligations
I will only retain your details for as long as necessary in order to process the transaction and I will securely store any data collected during that period. I retain personal data related to orders or customer queries for six years. After this time I will delete your data from my records.

You have the right to know what personal data I hold about you, and to ask for that data to be changed or deleted. You also have the right to complain to the ICO if you believe there is a problem with the way I handle your data.
